Welcome to Downward Dog!
Yoga is not just about flexibility, yoga is for every body and works to increase your awareness on the mat, so you can carry it off the mat and into your everyday life. Work with and connect to your body. Both strengthen and soften your muscles. Learn to breath deeper, relax your mind and rest well.
New to Yoga?
Students new to the practice of yoga are encouraged to attend a 4-week Yoga Basics workshop to get started.
These 4-week courses are designed to introduce new students to the physical practice of yoga in a slow, safe and comprehensive manner. A smaller class size allows for more individual attention, detailed instructions (including modifications for all needs and abilities), hands-on adjustments and questions.
Yoga Basics is perfect for those with little or no experience, as well as continuing students interested in reviewing the basics and reconnecting to the fundamentals of the practice.
At the end of this workshop students will be prepared to transition into our on-going Prep level classes. This course may also be repeated.
Please see our Workshops page for upcoming Yoga Basics courses.
New to the Studio?
Students new to Downward Dog with an existing practice are encouraged to attend any of our Level 1 Classes to get a feel for the studio and to get a sense of the instruction and challenge offered by our instructors.
If you are still new to the practice, we suggest attending Prep Level classes to get used to the movements, sequencing and flow before moving into higher level classes.
We have a variety of classes and a roster of amazing teachers who each bring their own flavour and personality to their teachings. You can read more about our class levels and teachers by clicking through the names and active class titles. Or check out our full team here.
We invite you to explore the website and learn about our history and approach to yoga, inspired by the Ashtanga tradition and the lineage of Sri T. Krishnamacharya.
