Since 1999, Downward Dog Yoga Centre has been offering two yoga teacher training programs:
- 200-hour Fundamentals of Vinyasa Yoga
- 300-hour Advancing the Art of Teaching
About the 200-Hour Fundamentals of Vinyasa Yoga Training
Our program is held three times a year: Spring (February to May), Summer (July and August) and Fall (September to December).
This program is for anyone looking to deepen their yoga practice and want to begin the first steps to teaching yoga. You will walk away with a deeper understanding of yourself, the ability to cultivate a holistic yoga practice, and the tools to teach a one-hour Vinyasa class.
About the 300-Hour Advancing the Art of Teaching
Downward Dog’s 300-hour program draws from your foundational training, whether you have recently graduated or if you have been teaching yoga for many years.
The 300-hour program is comprehensive and modular in structure, allowing you to finish the entire program in one year or at your own pace. This program is designed to deepen your understanding of all facets of teaching, such as: sequencing, cueing, language and accessibility, as well as delve into yin yoga, restorative yoga, advanced anatomy, Ayurveda, philosophy and more.
A 200-hour program certificate is required for this training.
About our Scholarship Programs
We offer a limited number of scholarships to members of groups that have been historically oppressed. If you identify as Black, Indigenous, a person of colour, 2SLGBTQ+IA, and/or differently-abled, you may qualify for a 50 to 100% discount on our upcoming programs. Application deadlines are one month prior to the start of each program.
