Saturdays, beginning Feb 4th:
Art of Sequencing Workshop & Lab – 1:30-4:30pm
30 hrs of Continuing Education Available
(Yoga Alliance Accredited)
This workshop is part of our 300-hr YTT offerings. Learn more about our 300-hr program, structure, and more in our virtual info session – Wednesday, January 25 at 5:30pm.
This workshop series is designed to be as open as possible, for best accessibility and accommodation of all interested teachers & trainees. We encourage you to book the full 30 hour training ($300+HST), and are also offering each workshop for drop-in ($35/class). If you are unable to commit to a full Saturday afternoon, you can also book the Teaching Lab (1:30-2:15pm) with a Downward Dog class pass.
The first portion is a 45-minute Teaching Lab practice open to all with a class pass or membership, followed by a two-hour sequencing and teaching skills workshop.
This series is an ongoing offering to existing teachers who have completed a 200-hr program. Time spent here can deepen your personal practice and count toward a 300-hr certification if that is a goal. We will practice teaching with feedback from other yoga teachers, including our Director of Teacher Training, Margot Stokreef.
In this module, we begin to work with each student to define themselves as a yoga teacher and cultivate their own unique teaching voice. We will cover what is appropriate for different levels and styles of classes and how to structure a class accordingly.
We will develop our skills, experience, and personal style in:
- Sequencing and flow
- Observing bodies
- Verbal and hands-on adjustments where appropriate
- Injury assessment and management
- Benefits of poses
- Modifications and Variations
There will be opportunities to teach sequences and exchange feedback & ideas with other yoga teachers. We encourage you to be prepared to teach a sequence and/or participate in feedback and discussion.
At this time, we are offering the 10-class Teaching Lab + Workshop series for $300 + HST. Drop-in to a workshop+class for $35+HST.
We are open to accommodating students virtually if you cannot attend in-person. Please contact Margot to discuss how we can include you: [email protected]
